Store Policy

Customer Care

Located, as we are, in the mountains, we have to drive all the way to the great agricultural heart of California, the San Joaquin Valley, to shop. Supermarkets are great, but we love stopping by roadside stands for fruit (especially citrus) and vegetables. No one generally minds these roughened-up, outdoor stores, but a locked box with a narrow slit for inserting cash is prominently displayed.

They are on the Honor System.

Morning Paper sells its goods at Fivespot and Merrynook, vacation rental cabins that Bachrun and Mahalia operate, near the entrance of Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park. In the spirit of local custom, our products are available to cabin guests on the Honor System.

Now they are available online, to customers far and wide — although unfortunately the Honor System isn't practical in this case. But we hope you will shop in the same spirit of giving back for goods selected, as we offer our products and designs with the hope they delight you every time you see them in your home.
